ok it's time for a new toy but what caliber 300blk or 458socom?
I've been looking for a 458 upper but the new 300blk has really got me scratching my head I already have everything but BBL
+ more mag capacity than the 458
+ I can make the brass
from what I've found the 300blk does real good in short bbls I cant find much on the 458
anyone have 300 blackout or 458 socom In 10-11" ?

From what I have read on other forums you should not go less than 16 inches on a .458. Since 300blk is just a shorter 7.62 (ak) you would be just fine shooting it out of a 11 inch barrel. just my .02

Better suppression on the 300BLK also. The AAC 762 SDN-6 will allow you to use a 8" barrel for 300BLK and a 12" barrel in 308. Also look at the decibel drop using that can with 300BLK.

I am in the process of building a 300BLK SBR now.

Doing the 300 blackout build too. Was going to go adam arms piston but I'm hearing they aren't compatible with blackout. Whose barrels are you guys using?

As far as the op's question, if its going to be a toy id go blackout. 458 is expensive to shoot.

Originally I was going to buy a complete Noveske upper. I have since changed my mind. I ordered a barrel from Delta Company Arms and will build the upper myself. Still haven't figured out what rail I am going with.

    Me FOUR.
I plan on using Wilson Combats 11.3" barrel. It just came back in stock.
If it's not in stock when I get ready to build it, then its going to be a Noveske.

I plan on mostly using it with subsonic ammo.

Have an SAS suppressor on order for it, too, sooo I got some time to order the barrel.

I went with the 9" AAC barrel, lo-pro gas block, and 51T Blackout flash hider. I've got an adjustable gas tube and will use the 9" JP Enterprises VTAC handguard. Probably going to put a black A1 stock on it. Not sure which front sight to use, if any.

Part II (muuuch later in the year) will be the addition of the AAC 762-SDN-6 can!

Ordered a barrel yesterday from ar15performance. Just need to find someone to pin my gas block. I don't plan on shooting subs so I went with a carbine length gas system and a 1/8 twist.

The barrel was ordered and received. Still waiting on permission slips (at least I can test it with the pistol buffer tube)

Picked up a Troy 9" rail and lo-pro gas block locally.
    11.3" 300 Blackout barrel.
    CMT BCGs en route.

Have a feeling I won't be seeing the suppressor until late this year.

I have a spare receiver set that I need to find a use for....I just don't really want another left field caliber as I already have/load 458 and 6.5G.

    decisions, decisions....

Mine is an 18" Marty build. As little as I've used it, I enjoy!

It has some green on it now, but parts are still the same.
