Anyone have any thoughts on a good 44 Mag handgun to carry? Just thinking it might be nice to use the same gun as my rifle and wondered if there were any good options out there? Thanks!

I have a Super RedHawk Alaskan, 2.5" barrel. I sometimes carry it when in the woods, or fishing. I have a Galco leather belt holster that works pretty good for me. Unless I'm wearing a heavy winter coat, it's nowhere near being CC.

I like the S & W 629 or RUGER SUPER REDHAWK, If money is an issue, then the RUGER BLACKHAWK:yesway:

Not too many options in 44 Mag, Unless you are built like Lou Ferrigno. If that is the case, maybe a Desert Eagle is in your future.
For concealed carry, 44 Mag is getting into some pretty big guns, but if open carry is what you are thinking, Rugers are about as strong as they come, but smith & wessons will be lighter to pack around for any length of time.
Single action vs Double action and price range will have a big impact on your choices as well.

Well rugers are nice but they have cast frames. Where S&W are all machined. Thats why theres a nice price difference between the 2. I own both but love my smiths! Could't go wrong with the 629, its a very nice gun.
