I had to share pics of this beauty. It's a hand cannon one of my buddies made from scratch, all by hand in his shop. The brass plate is his last name engraved in Anglo Saxon runes on it. I have the coolest friends, lolol. Yes, it is a fully functioning matchlock hand cannon.

You have to hook me up with this guy. I need someone who may be able to make a very special Japanese matchlock gun.

That is too cool!!! Indiana is blessed with craftsmen willing to try something different.

We were doing a reenactment at Rising Sun and one of my buddies took out his 18th century jon boat on the river to try out the swivel gun he had mounted on it. It didn't go over very well and I was just happy they got back to shore. The recoil tore the swivel gun off of the boat and it made for an onteresting paddle back to the bank. There was actually a "Oh s*&t" moment where it looked like they were heading to Louisville but they finally got back to shore.

Apparently swivel guns were meant to be mounted on SHIPS or FORTS! I could see some of the tourists on shore mumbling among themselves "Is this part of the act?" as they were desperatley tring to get back to the bank. Funny now but not so much then.
