Now I just heard this short story on WGN radio.
85 year old Chicago man passing by spots a store robbery.
He blocks the exit path of the robber.
He draws his licenced to carry handgun.
He fires at the robber as he was leaving.

They want to take away his permit--- because the robber was leaving.

    does anyone have more facts.

Of course they want to take away his permit. It's Chicago. They criminals have more rights than the citizens there.

Of course they are going to come down on him. It's Chicago and an armed citizen stopping a crime in its tracks doesn't fit the narrative.

I'm not sure if any of the local news outfits are going to be non-biased with the reporting of this incident. One says that he was attempting to shoot the robber in the back. Another said he was shooting after the LEO showed up and they had to take cover, thus inferring he hampered their response. I bet they are all hoping this turns into a "see-i-told-u-so-CCW-is-bad-mmmkay" sort of story. At the very least they have already begun to spin it that way...

Shooting the armed robber in the back? Anyone who goes into a gun fight and wants to play fair, is putting himself at a distinct disadvantage. It isn't a sporting event. The object is to win at all costs.
