A gentle reminder sent to me by another NRA member. Apparently members, especially newer members, must activate their ArmsCare Gun Insurance with NRA along with AD&D and Life Insurance...you have to go online to "member services" to activate that coverage...otherwise you have no coverage for any claim or incident....for life members the stolen gun coverage is $2500 and $10,000 of AD&D and Life Ins.

I went online and checked and my coverage was shown as active. Since I had a clain in 1993, no surprise there. I'm guessing it will be mostly newer members, who knows. No harm in checking.

My membership expired in May. I re-joined in August with the same membership number and had to activate again since I was considered a new member.

Man, I thought this would degrade into an NRA bashing thread. I'm glad it was helpful.

I actually made a claim 18 years ago when several guns were stolen. At that time the theft coverage was $1,000. After mailing a simple claim form I had a check in a couple weeks.
