ak-47 safety lever question.

do you have to remove the trigger and sear in order to remove the safety lever? i've tried to rotate the lever up and it get caught on the sear, and when i try to rotate it down it get caught on my underfolder trunnion...

Have you tried pulling the trigger ?

What I mean is , after you've got the cover , spring and bolt off the gun , pull the trigger so that the hammer is in a vertical position .

Then try to rotate the lever upwards .
