Anvil Shooting-the Gentle Pastime

A long time ago I was perusing the Speedway ordinances regarding prohibitions on concealed carry and other prohibited fun things. Among these was a ban on "anvil shooting." Having no idea what that was, I Googled it. Go ahead, you will enjoy it.

My question: Anyone here particpate in this pursuit, or observe it first hand? Is it as awesome as it looks on youtube?

I thought it was just another Hollywood ploy to make people that do not live in SoCal or NYC stupid, but anvil shooting is real.
