I am expanding my food plot and was wanting to plant some chufa for turkey but the growing map seems to cut the state of at the Ohio River. Anyone here have good success with Chufa?

I can tell you it is an invasive weed in lawns throughout Indiana and grows like a weed. Pun intended. While it is considered a subtropical it thrives in especially wet areas here. It is extremely difficult to control once established due to the underground tubers. You might want to keep that in mind if you want to use this land for other crops at some point.

I have considered chufa also but its invasiveness has me just a little concerned. So at this point I have not planted it.
