i have heard that you can get your carry permit quicker if you go through aries for processing your ap and then going to local pd for finalizing. is this true or do i need to wait the two+ months for the permit.

i found this site Application for Handgun License and they say you can get your permit in 7 days. unless i misunderstood.

Best way to speed up the process is to start earlier. Sorry. I had to say it.

There are two ways to get a ltch, one is 2 weeks or less. The other can take more than 90 days.

So it seems to me there is a way to speed up the process over the old paper procedure.

Sorry someone had to say it.

Whole process took me exactly 2 weeks -- applied online Sunday, Sept 28, got electronic fingerprinting the next day during my lunch break. Longest piece was background check, but I got the call from local PD this past Monday, paid the local fee Wednesday, and received my lifetime LTCH in today's mail. Woo hoo!
