Threading the barrel and installing a flash suppressor should not have any effect on barrel stiffness.
You are on your own as far as selecting a flash suppressor. I can't help.
I don't know of any gunsmiths in Ft Wayne. I know of one near Churubusco that has done this for me and does a lot of quality work.
