I try to buy the biggest and best output battery I can get in my vehicles. Last battery I got at Advance lasted almost 8 years. I paid $120 back then. It tested bad for 3 years though.
It finally gave up the ghost while I was meeting an INGO member from the classifieds. He had to give me a jump. I went straight to Rural King and spent $50 + the governor's cut.
