    I've always had good results with bolt & break action rifles by simply sighting down the bore and centering the target. This always gets me on the target and I fine tune from there.

    I read that too. It seems to get you on the paper and working from there

    There is absolutely no excuse for a rifleman not to own a boresighting kit. I paid $20 and got arbors for everything from .17 caliber to .45 cal. For less than the cost of one box of middle of the road centerfire ammo, you can ensure you can get on the paper and then get zeroed with a minimum of effort and ammo expenditure. On top of that, you can use the boresighter to document your scope settings in the event that you need to remove the scope.

    You can pay $20 for the kit or $15 a pop for a gunsmith to spend 60 seconds on your rifle. Your choice.
