Can anyone ID these markings on this Hi-Power Stock?

As a follow up to an earlier post, can anyone ID the ( what I assume are) Chinese marking on my Inglis Hi Power stock?

Chinese...I believe
I've seen this before. I was told used by the Hong Kong Police when it was occupied by England.

If I can remember to show her I will have my wife translate it (assuming it's Chinese).

She looked at it and said that she believed it was a Japanese name.
