Is the zoo considered a city park and so against city ordinances to carry? I'll be spending part of a day there next week and so need to know. TIA

If anything, I'd think it would be part of White River State Park. IIRC, they do have signs up prohibiting weapons on the premises. I may or may not have carried there in the past.

The Zoo itself is a private entity.

    Carry is against their rules.

Carry there is not against the law.

What about the Indy Kids museum? Last time I was there I saw no signs...?

I believe that it's still OK.

Be aware, though, that I'm not a lawyer...

And they did just recently begin a preschool-type of a program there.

HOWEVER, the description of the program from that website doesn't meet (in my opinion) the criteria of the Indiana Code for a "bona fide" preschool. Therefore, the Indianapolis Children's Museum remains legal.

My wife read in last weeks Sunday (red) Star that the Children's Museum now has a preschool and will be included in the state law prohibiting guns on "school" property (including the parking areas. :noway::xmad::noway:

yeah, i realy believe everything I read in the communist, socialist, indy star manefesto.

who cares. deep concealement. i try to obey all the laws, but theres a line that I draw when it encroaches oon my personal safety: no guns in parks, no guns on school property, etc........

the childrens museum is in the middle of the effing hood. you could die walking to your car, let alone be robbed by one of the TOP NOTCH security tards they have working there. im not taking a chance, but im also not gonna be a hermit.

According to their website NO. I looked into it awhile back as my buddy was visiting. It is just a sign carrying no weight of law. All they can do is ask you to leave. I may have CC'd there a few times, or I may not have. It's a little fuzzy.

That's fine. I carry everywhere I can legally (as well as some others on occasion). But since possession of a firearm on school property is a felony, and arrest/conviction would result in never being able to own even a single .22 lr round (let alone guns), that would mean many, many years of gun free living (possibly) -vs- not having my gun for a few hours at a museum. It ain't Constitutional, but it is the law (that needs to be changed).

yep and probable cause and illegal search and seizure is still a law too. no one will ever know if you do it right.

We went there yesterday. I parked in the garage and walked across the sky walk to the entrance. I didn't see any signs. I wasn't looking for them...but I didn't see any. :dunno:

I don't see anything on their web page either.

It does say I can't smoke, curse or run with scissors...

Wednesdays are apparently the day to go. There wasn't 20 more people there besides us.
