Hard to find load data for 148gr DEWC and Trail Boss but through some extrapolation came up with this and would appreciate any input.

148gr DEWC/2.7gr Trail Boss bullet seated flush with case mouth with very minimum crimp. The crimp really does not touch the bullet with the flush seating.

    Is any crimp needed?
    Anyone seat to different depth?

No crimp needed. Revolvers require a roll crimp, and since there is no cannelure to curl the mouth into, there is nothing to crimp.

As for seating depth, bullet should be flush with the mouth of the casing.

Per the recommendation of a Hodgdon Tech. Rep., I am using Trail Boss for extremely light loads with 134 gr. cast SWCs. It burns very cleanly, which is what I wanted as the loads are so light the cases don't seal fully in the chambers, and there is a fair amount of blow-by fouling.

By the way, the reason for having such a light load is I use it for instructing beginners so they don't have to deal with muzzle blast and recoil while trying to grasp the fundamentals of proper handgun shooting.
