In Indiana emancipation of a child occurs for several reasons, the one in question is that emancipation occurs at the age of 21. If you've been there done that, does this occur automatically or are there forms that need to be filled out. Depending on which person you get when you call the relevent state office the story changes. So how did it work for you? Was it automatic or did you have to file to have emancipation granted?:dunno:

what ever happened to being an adult at 18?

If the child goes to college then you have to keep paying while they are in college.

To OP, I would do it in person no matter what you hear. I have had more then one argument with the local child support office only to have them each time admit they screwed up.
