    Nope, good ole' camera tricks, hidden rigs, perspective manipulation and forced observation points.

    Google "Icarus effect" for a pretty good explanation of how it's done for street audiences.

    For larger audiences, it's some variant of "send them home with checks to keep their mouths shut and clap when its over". :)

    lol you mean he does that among a paid crowd and picks his assistant at random?
    Magic tricks are easy to show on TV since they can film what they want you to see and nothing else.

    The levitation illusion he does where he appears to elevate an inch or two off the ground is actually fairly easy to do. As was mentioned earlier, this one is all about angle of perspective. I've wowed a few people with that one myself. Just don't give in to the requests to repeat the trick.
