    Not the prettiest looking thing, is it.

    It's weird that no one has seen this animal before, perhaps it was an exotic pet that escaped or was let go? Doesn't look furry enough to be able to survive Maryland winters.

    ^^makes sense to me to.
    I would not have turned it loose though.
    I would have called a CO and turned it over to wildlife officials.
    If in fact it is a fox with mange, I would guess that maybe rabies would not be far behind.

    Yep. Fox w/ mange. Read something recently about the cases of mange being on the rise in fox/wolf/coyote and wild dog populations.

    If it was Chupacabra, it would have eaten the reporter's head.
