I was thinking about changing my powder for my 223 loads and was wanting some input as to what I should look into. My current go-to powder for 223 is TAC, but it is horribly dirty, kind of reminds me of Bullseye for pistols. I was thinking about trying BL(C)-2 as I recall hearing that it burned a bit cleaner, but I would like all of your input as well. Cartridges will be fired out of an 16" AR-15, pills will be 62gr SS109's. I don't need any recipes, just powder suggestions. Thanks in advance all!:ingo:

I should have added one more caveat, I want the powder to meter well out of a Dillon.

Spyder- I had heard about H335 and was considering that too, thanks for the input.
Owl- I'm worried about Varget not metering well, though I'm thinking about using Varget for my 308 loads and could spare some to try in 223, thanks for the suggestion!

For 62gr bullets, I would use H4895 hands down. Meters better than Varget, but is very stable over temperature like Varget.

Kludge-I'll definitely have to try the H4895 as I picked some up at the last 1500 to try out. Thanks for the input!
sgreen- I have not thought about Accurate2230, I'll have to look into that!

My brother uses 2230 it in all his .223 ammo, I just started reloading and loaded up my first batch of .223 with the 2230. I like it alot runs real well.

AA2230 here, spherical and clean burning. Win win.... Midway had it on sale for $9.99 a pound and I've been hooked ever since. Works good for .308 as well.

    844, 846, blc-2 aa2230 aa2015 they have all worked great for me.
I would say my most accurate load in my Savage was with aa2015.
If I'm remembering correctly, 844 uses the load data of h335 and 846 uses blc-2 data (that might be reversed)

I use AA2230 through a Dillon 550 and have no complaints. It meters well and has not struck me as being dirty. I wish I could find it for $9.99 a pound.
