Anybody else despise cleaning ARs. Took the grandson shooting Monday. Just got done with that hateful devil. More nooks and crannies to collect filth. Would rather clean the pooper at a White Castle convention. Admit I'm a little anal about swabbing it out (q-tips-toothbrushes-chamber brush-hemostats-paper towels-flame-thrower). Just seems like the thing hates me. Before someone says it, yes I have considered bolt guns. There, I feel better.

INGO is obviously in need of another Que video on how to clean your AR.

    I'm thinking . . .

"Step 1: send your wife to her friend's house.

    *shoulder twitch*

Step 2: crack your AR apart and put in the dishwasher like a surgeon."

It doen't need to be white glove clean. And, if you hate cleaning it THAT much, don't shoot it. It's a tool, it gets dirty. That's a fact of life. Clean it enough to keep it from getting all gunked up, but don't go overboard.

ar's are suppose to be cleaned?????

This. Shoot it until it gets funky enough to stop working, then use a bore snake, an old toothbrush, some #725 Gun Cleaner and about 5 minutes, and it will be right as rain. An AR doesn't have to be white-glove-inspection spotless to be functional.

You're obviously not in the Army! We have to spend HOURS cleaning our 16s. Mostly to kill time, since I've found it near impossible to clean that weapon to the standard they want. Complain about cleaning your AR for 10 minutes? Join the Army! There, you'll clean your weapon as much as five hours a day, whether it needs it or not!

^^ This ^^. I've spent plenty of time in the desert and I used to laugh at these guys trying to keep their rifles clean like back in the rear. I've got rifles I've not cleaned in over 1000 rounds, still shoot perfect. I'll clean it when it needs it.
