My Beretta 92fs came with a cleaning rod and two types of bristles (one is harder than the other).

I am wanting to clean my new gun from the manufacturers that has all their oil on it.

Do I have to use the bristle rods?

Can't I just use some little pads, good cleaning solution, and good oil?

    Anything I SHOULDNT do?

    Thanks

Soft patches and solvent should be fine. Nothing should really need scrubbed if cleaning a new gun. Make sure to re-lube properly. *cough* froglube *cough*.

It is supposed to have an oil based lube in it as well..am I right?
