It was finally decent outside this weekend so several of the guys I shoot with made it to the range for practice & friendly competition.

We all sucked worse than normal.

Anybody got a routine to sort of get things back to where they were after a layoff? Am thinking maybe Bill drills would be the place to start, but perhaps some of you folks have found a better way to get the juices flowing.

I don't really think about it too much between my slow shooting months. Though I do practice my trigger control and stance when I can't get out and shoot as well as mag changes. with a safe weapon of course.

Bill Drills are good, El Prez is good. Try them both at varying distances. A 25 yd Bill Drill will have you focused on the front sight.

There are tons of drills out there. As long as you are drawing, reloading and shooting, it can't be bad.

    Don't forget movement drills.

This weekend I worked on distance change up, DOT drills, Bill drills, and box to box drills. Feeling pretty good!

I know a few people like to start with 4 Aces for a warm up drill.

    Good luck.

25 yard slow fire to try and remember trigger control & etc, followed by 25 yard Bill drills did seem to help.
Will try some of the other things next time. Thanks all!
