I have been asked to customize one of the prize table guns for the 2017 SNS Castings Indiana Championship .The provided firearm is a Springfield Armory Range Officer 1911. I just started working on this firearm and I am not 100% sure of what the total vision is yet, but it should make someone really happy. This will be a USPSA "race ready" 1911 for single stack division.
The underside of the trigger guard was "high-cut" and the front strap received 20 lpi checkering.
I have also re-fitted the beaver tail grip safety. I reworked the factory parts since the radius had already been cut at the safety was properly engaging. You can see from the comparison pictures to another factory new Range Officer the amount of work that goes into reworking a grip safety. The radius gap is larger than if I had started with oversized parts, but it is uniform and a lot better than it was initially.
I will try to keep the pictures coming as time allows.
Thank you!
