Does anyone know if Dan Wesson handguns can be bought in retail stores? If so, any idea what stores in central Indiana?

Yes. I dunno about Bloomington, but Indiana Gun Club in Indy has several in stock: Indiana Gun Club Dan Wesson Pistol Inventory page.

Could call Atkinson Firearms and ask them (I've never been there, but they're a site supporter of INGO). Even if your LGS doesn't have any in stock, maybe can get one their a distributor and still give a local shop a shot at it.

It’s been a week or two but I recall seeing a Valor in the Sportsman’s Outdoors in Greenwood. I would definitely call before heading out that way though if you are not within a couple of minutes of the place.

This....... I was just there 2 days ago and they have several in stock. They will order them for you if you know what you want, that's where I got mine a few years ago.
