I have not gotten around to the 1911’s yet, but it won’t be long. My son bought a new Kimber .45 that is a total blast to shoot. I will just borrow his for now and do my research.

I picked up the DW PM9 at Christmas time. To date, best handgun purchase I have made. It is way more accurate than I am. Crisp trigger pull at 3.5# out the box. Now I'm having a hard time deciding between the Valor in 10mm or Guardian in 38 super.

I've got an itch that only an expensive new toy will scratch and I'm still in the middle of researching. My want is a middle expense 1911 in 10mm that will be hunting legal and I may want to carry it. Right now I'm sitting on two dan Wesson/cz models: the Kodiak and the Specialist.

I'm looking for the good, the bad, and the ugly of new dw/cz and if anyone has any first hand experience with them. I appreciate answers and I'm always willing to look at other models in the $1500-2500 range. I don't think I want to go full nighthawk though.

I had a 2015 delta elite once. Once. That was perhaps the highest priced peice of shoddy craftsmanship I'd ever had the misfortune of ignorantly purchasing. It may have been a lemon, but I'll never buy colt anything again. The whole gun was loose fitting, and again it was my mistake to buy it new the way it was, but I was new to 1911's then. I couldn't even get my reloads to stick within 5 inches at 15 yards and I am a much better shot than that. I sold that about a month after I got it and never looked back. Colt kind of proves they were worthless to me when they came out with the new python that failed to fire because of poor fitment. I believe the internals had too much room to shift against the side plate unless it was seriously torqued, but I honestly can't remember entirely. I had a mid 70's python and loved it, but it was too much money to shoot often and I eventually sold it too.

Sorry for the book, but Colt is a no go for me.

I have four pre-fire DWs. Valor, V-Bob and Specialist in 45ACP and a PM9 in 9mm. Fit and finish are probably the best of any production 1911 and reliability of the 45s have been 100%, the PM9 has a very tight chamber and is picky on ammo.
