We are going to start training with our new dedicated home defense shotgun which is a Remington 870 in 20gauge. I am looking for a simple light and mount package. I dont have alot of cash to spend right now (no more than $40 total. I have seen some cheap lights but I know some are not very good. What cheap setup do you suggest in this price range?

old scope ring + Surefire G2 nitrolon. clamp it to a rail GTG. TacStar makes a pressure switch compatible with the G2 if thats your thing. ring.. probably have one around. Light under 40 bucks. Rail cheap if you dont already have something laying around. I think the tacstar switches are @ 25 bucks. Ain't pretty, ain't tacti-cool, but it works well on the cheap.

For a light mount i use a the attachment that came with my mossberg. it holds the lose barrel in the box when being shipped. i don't know what else to call it. i will try to post a pic later of my set up. it will hold a 1" light perfectly and best of all it was free well kinda.
