Actually, it is interesting that even in the early 20th century, police departments realized that storing confiscated firearms in tanks of salt water kept them safe and insured that they would never be used in a future crime, should they be forced to return them to a legal owner. Surprised that IPD has not adopted that storage protocol. <snicker>
