    Hello everyone! Recently, my Father gave me his father's knife. He doesn't know the origin of it, other than it being my grandfather's knife. There are no markings on the knife or sheath. Can any of you shed some light on this type of knife? Here are some pictures:

    I recently sharpened it and it took quite a while just to get it to the point of decently cutting paper! Must be some sort of stubborn steel.

    it looks like a old kent sportsman or utica kutmaster to me. some were made by imperial and colonial knife companies in the 50's 60's. the imperials were usually stamped but when they made them for hardware store brands they were etched on blade which wore off pretty easy.
