Dont put your hammer spring in upside down

Did my first Ar lower build and went to test fire it tonight and it fired once. Then just dimpled the primers. Turns out I had the hammer spring in upside down. I guess if the instructions were a little better that might not have happened.... RIGHT.....

IMHO while the hammer spring can go in two different ways, it should be obvious that only one way is correct.

Don't feel too bad, it isn't that obvious, i have done this as well.

Since the legs trap the pin, it should be obvious (by angle and amount of force).
But in the excitement of a build I guess some folks are looking past some stuff

Yep a friend of mine who will remain nameless did the very same thing on his last build. Don't worry about it you are not alone my friend.

Same here, except I put the blame on RRA. They had it installed backwards from the factory. I stuck it in and it didn't seem to work right, so I took it out and flipped it around.

I caught it during the build.
