Dove Hunt Opening Day

Went out opening day, almost got 2 man limit 29 shot!!!

Congratulations. Some fine birds there. Dove hunting takes more skill than people realize. They come at you like a missile. Do you use dogs?

Yeah.....We had one Dog and she was beat from the heat by end of day!!!

Me and 2 friends hit the fields Saturday and between the 3 of us we killed 5. They just weren't moving for us. Then my buddies dog decided to take on a group of cows and one cow wanted nothing to do with it and charged him, stepping on his paw. It drew some blood but he seemed to be ok. I haven't talked to him since so I'm guessing the dog is doing fine.

Greg- Do you plant normal sunflowers and how big is your plot? Im planning a plot for next year and don't know how big I should go.

I went 1 for 2. Only seen the 2 birds while sitting 4 hours. Hunted over a cut wheat field, the other 2 fields I have access to were planted with corn and beans. Must've seen 20-25 sitting on the power lines on my way home.

I would reckon she was tired, but as happy as a bird dog could be too right?

Anyone ever shoot a banded dove?
