So I have wanted to start this tread for awhile, but my camera has not been very friendly. Please forgive my lack of pictures.
I bought a Taurus 24/7 OSS in .45 with the 5 1/4 inch barrel, and I absolutely love it. With all of the NightHawk, HK, and other high end .45s out there, I am happy to have found a relatively inexpensive .45 (I paid 300 for it, used, but you could never tell!) Now don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to own one of those real pretty Bill Wilson .45s that are deep blue and come with the ivory grips, but it is just not in my budget right now.
The Taurus is good because it has double stack magazine that holds 12 rounds, but you would never know when you grip it. I have small hands, and outside a 1911, it is hard for me to find a .45 I can comfortably grip, let alone a hi cap. The DA pull is long, but it is smooth and does not stack. The SA pull is even better. I like the that the external safety is pushed all the way up to decock the weapon and revert it to DA, instead of down, like my FNP and the newer 845s. I have pushed the safety too far down in the past and decocked my FNP just as I was getting ready to fire. I don't have that problem with the Taurus. The sights are good, the gun is more accurate than I am, and even with a polymer frame, the muzzle rise and recoil is minimal. I would definitely reccomend this gun to others. My only complaint is magazine availability, but then again i have not really looked all that hard. I should probably make it to the next Indy 1500.
