You are correct, I was wrong, and I am not smart.

I think you need both a 3 and a Laserstrike. The only reason I don't have a Laserstrike yet is because I have a CM-6, which is kinda similar.

That would be ideal. I'd like to EDC the 3 and use the LS for camp tasks. The 5 is a chunk of a knife and honestly doesn't get much use.
