was going to go pick up some walnut media from harbor freight tonight and wanted to see if people have been getting fine or coarse for cleaning brass.

I use the walnut media from a pet store ,meant for critter bedding, it probably is coarser, and it does get stuck in the primer holes ,so I'd say get the fine .

I bought the coarse from Harbor Freight. I start with that for a couple hours and then switch to corn cob with polish for a couple more hours to make them look shiny.

Course media generally works fine, but I have had trouble with the media packing up inside .223 rifle cases. I hate having to dig each one out with a small screwdriver, so I switched to fine. No problem on .30 and larget cases or with straight walled pistol calibers.

I do not think any untreated media does much. To make it work fast, I add Dillon case polish or the polish from midway works pretty good too. Good Luck

Has anyone used the Walnut with Brasso?
I have used it and the cases are very shiny and rarely does it stick in 223's.
    Thanks

I tried some Lizard bedding and is was so fine it did not seem to do much. Maybe I was expecting too much.

Same here. I would care more, but cleaning cases at all is a recent and necessary phenomenon - so I'm rolling with the lizard bedding.
