    I purchased my first assisted opening knife. I got a very cheap, but also very nice SOG mini-Aegis. It's a pretty nice knife with a Tini coating in a Tanto cut. It also uses Aus8 steel...which means almost nothing to me because I'm totally new to knives...lol. I really like it so far and think I will start adding more knives to my collection.

    I think you did well. One of my former students has the full size Aegis and it's a nice knife. It's a lot lighter than it looks too!
