functional Katana?

I am looking for a usable sword. Something that will not snap in half when going through rice mats and watermelons. I find it to be very relaxing.... Looking in the under 300 dollar range. Any sugestions?

Probably won't be less than $300, though. I paid nearly $450 for mine new, from Swamp Rat (black, black/tan G10).

The scrapyard scrapizashi is still available in the company store for 285+ $15 S&H... sounds like its right in your wheelhouse.

You will be getting excellent steel with an excellent warranty, but the blade is only 17 3/8". not really katana length ~30ish
