Have all the bugs been worked out of the gen4 Glocks? I currently own a 17 in 9mm, but would like to purchase either a 26 or 27 subcompact, or possibly a gen4 19 or 23 in the future. I have heard there were some failures to eject in some of the early gen4 guns.

They're resolved, as far as I know.

I own a Gen 4 26, and it has been flawless. I don't particularly care for the grip checkering, but other than that, it is just fine.

The only thing that changed on the G26/G27's for the Gen 4 models is the grip checkering and the backstrap deal. Gen 4's are good to go IMO. :yesway:

Love my gen 4. I found a dozen threads on various forums discussing the gen 4 with a quick search.

I prefer the gen 3 but then again, I have a G23 and those had the biggest problems in the gen 4 series

Only owned mine since the end of October, but 500ish rounds through my G23 with no problems. Here's to the next 500.

I have a G17 gen 4. Replaced the recoil spring assembly with the new one from Glock . Did not have any problems before the change. I have about 2000 rounds through it and it has done its part if I did mine. Have a almost new one that with 200 rounds through it and it runs as good.

I've got a gen4 22 and 23. Both have been flawless in there function.
As I understand the issues were from the new recoil assembly that was used in the gen4s. I understood the issues to be contained in the 9mm 17/19 models and not the 22/23. It was typically a result of underpowered rounds that would not cycle the recoil assembly reliably. I've not seen or heard first hand accounts of any gen4 22/23 having cycling issues whether before or after the gen4 recoil assembly upgrade. I know several people who have gen4s both pre and post upgrades that like them. I'm one of those.
    Good luck on the Glock.

    Stay safe

My agency has 27 gen 4 22's and about five gen 4 23's. I did the recoil assy recall on all of them when that came out. We have never and do not have any reliability issues with ours at all.

    I have a Gen 3 G26 and G21...performing like champs.

The most recently Glock I had, the G30, Gen 3, threw every spent case back into my face.

    I no longer own it.
