I'm currently in the process of being hired for an armored car company, and having already selected a weapon, I need a good comfortable duty holster. I have a pretty tight budget, and would only be able to spend about $60. What are some suggestions for a Glock 23? I think I would prefer a composite above a leather. Unless someone can show me otherwise. I'm really not sure. I've never really had to look into purchasing anything other then a concealment holster. I need some help.:draw::biggun:

If you can increase your budget by about $20, LA Police Gear has the Blackhawk Serpa level 3 for $81, plus if you order before Dec. 27th you'll get 15% off

I have a level II serpa with a jacket slot holster for my G23 it's good for the winter but a little low for the summertime. I might be getting a mid-ride attachment for warmer weather, but I'm also thinking of changing to something that doesn't have the release button visible for all to see. I maybe a little  but I'll be looking into safari land soon.

P.S. My level II is for a G22 so if I don't switch and I'm planning on getting a full size glock I'm covered.

You can get the Serpa at a local gunshop for under $60. I don't know what level it is though. It was $50 from Midwest, iirc. I have my Glock in a Serpa right now. It's the only thing I carry a Glock in. Feels like they were made for each other.

IF your going to use it for work as a armed guard make sure it's Duty Gear. It's built tougher and will not work with normal serpa stuff.

Due to some unforeseen bills, my budget was cut in half. I have the G23 4th gen, but it resides on my hip in a lowly Fobus. Not too excited about that, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Hopefully, with the new job, and higher pay, I'll be able to afford a real nice holster. Soon. Thanks all for the input. It shall not be wasted.:draw:

i have been in the armored car industry for over 15 years 1st of i would make sure there are no restrictions on what you carry and holster configuration. If not I would recomend the the blackhawk lvl 2 serpa, while teh lvl 3 is more secure it is no where as fast as the lvl 2. in my experiance i would also get the "law enforcement version" which is much taller and protects the top of the firearm better (swinging doors tend to damage sights). Before the serpas came out i would sugest the safariland "hooded" holsters for again the speed and security. If you get the serpa i sugest you can change out the drop down to a higher rise part at a later time if you dont like the feel of the firearm lower ( i dont like it for sitting in a vehical so I swithed to the higher piece).

Blackhawk Serpa for sale to Indy 1500 for $48. I love serpas. I have one for a Bretta 92. Its amazing. I have a Uncle Mikes IWH that I use for my 23 only for better concealment reasons. I think a serpa would do you fine.
