Very wishful. I wouldn't expect a ruling like that until legislation is enacted showing all of these rulings to be unconstitutional and reverse them by force of law.

That will be a long time coming.

And many many gun owners would be fighting this with the antis because of the "investments" they've made on the expensive NFA weapons. Pretty sad when you think about it.

Very true. I don't make a lot of money but even if I saved for years and bought a $10k machine gun I would STILL want the law changed... So I could buy more cheaper!

Good news for some I guess but let me know when they reopen the registry so that full autos will be cheap again and I can get my dream guns

And a 16" barrel would still be under the same defintion of a permanently attached device if the actual barrel part is under 16" correct?

As in, I couldn't take a Draco with it's 11.75" barrel, add a 5" net removable muzzle device and stock to make it a rifle, the muzzle device would need to be welded, blind pinned, or silver soldered still. Although that isn't that much different than switching a barrel and adding a stock to a Contender, I still see the ATF saying the muzzle device is easily removable (but I think is a reasonable equivalent when you can't change barrels without major work).

OTH, that does mean that it is legal to shoot a less that 26" OAL but at least 16" barrel pistol and then add a stock back on it at any time as long as it goes back over 26" (I.E. a Draco permanently attached muzzle device 16" barrel without the stock).

Nice of the ATF to finally recognize the SCOTUS ruling as holding to everything not just Contenders over 19 years later...
