I have some property in shelby county (12 acres).Id like to start shooting out there instead of going to Crosley or Atterbury. The property is all wooded. There are neighbors on the left and right of the property. And just crop land in the back.I just wasnt sure if i could legally be able to shoot out there.I keep thinking i heard of some law that i have to be 300 feet or yards from other houses or something like that.Just want to be sure if the neighbors complain.Any help would be much appreciated.

I suggest you do two things 1. Call the cops and ask them the local laws and two talk to your neighbors and ask if they mind or not. I am in the same situation and my neighbors are fine with it so now I never have to go further than my back yard to shoot. Of course I have a large hill on the back of my property I shoot into - must have a proper backstop.

If you want to bury any steel in your backstop or outfit it with any steel targets, we are local and would be glad to help!
