Two opposing viewpoints on the morality of Christians using firearms. I may be a little biased here, but it sure seems as if the anti-viewpoint was written perhaps by an 8th grader. The strawmen are plenty and the logic is weak. For example:

"Moreover, relying on a weapon to keep me safe raises a spiritual question: am I placing my faith in guns or God? Whom do I trust will save and protect me? My gun, or God?"

This would be a much more compelling argument if the presenter would only promise to eschew seat belts, door locks, life and health insurance, fire extinguishers, the police, and any other tool, object, or situation that he relies upon to "keep him safe".

Luke 22:36; Then said he, (Jesus), unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

The meaning is obvious; we have the right to self-defense, and the sword is meant for personal protection only, not to use to mandate that people submit to the Gospel. We are saved by a ready submission to the Word, NOT at the edge of a blade.

Peter was walking around with Jesus Christ himself and was still packin. When the roman soldiers came to arrest Jesus he pulled his piece and cut one's ear off.

In the Old Testament is says if someone breaks into your house in the daytime he can't be killed but if he breaks in at night, he is yours...
