Layer up some linen and epoxy. Vacuum seal or press between closed cell foam. Shape to fit.

Any hardwood will work. It'll last longer if you soak it in Cryocyanurate (SP?) glue. There are also thin epoxies designed to stabilize wood.

I like to press mine between a couple 2x4s, you can use wax paper to keep it from sticking. I've found that wood screws at all four corners applys the most even pressure.

:+1: Minwax makes wood stabilizer, might be able to find it at your local hardware store.
