Looking for some help in the bedford/Bloomington Area with swapping out the handguard ring on my AR. I want to switch the handguard to the MOE sl but it needs a round ring and it currently has a triangle.

If someone knows of a gunsmith/shop that can do the swap or if a member has the tools and know how I would like to learn. Can compensate for time with a little cash and/or Papa John's pizza.

Is the gas block an A frame pinned style..??

If it is you have to punch out the 2 locking pins in the base to remove the block and swap the piece you speak of.

Yes. with the right size and the correct direction. I watched a video once, and they mentioned they are tapered pins. So they only come out one direction.

I did this same swap about a year ago to fit an MOE SL on my AR. Was quite nervous to take it on, but with the help of INGO and You Tube, it was a no brainer. Plus...now I know even more about how to work on my AR's. My advice would be to grab some punches and give it a whirl.
