I have serial # 639673. It looks great. How much is this worth?

Is it an old model (1927-1969) or a MK III (1969-1975)
There's a big difference in the value between the two models.

The Mk III was the Official Police Mk III when it replaced the old model Official Police in 1969.
Hence the difference in value.
I have the 1969 and 1971 issues of Shooters Bible to prove it.

When they come up for sale in shops I have been in, usually theasking price will be between $400/$500 in nice shape. I have one from 1937,got it cheap,wouldn't sell it ever-great shooter,and just too cool! It's what Barney carried on the Andy Griffith Show-[but no bullet]

My book shows that Ser # being issued in 1942. Does it have any military proofs? Sounds like a nice gun. Value I guess $400-500 in very good condition...
