    The flower petals are all cut out individually, and glued together.

    The wood is Holly. It turns bright white when sanded and buffed.

    Scroll saw professionals never leave cut marks and sharp edges :)

    I have a sander and a buffer. Also, you can buy sanders/buffers that go on your scroll saw.

    We have never done the artwork type stuff like in your pics, just lettering and some fret work. And if you do it right there is no sanding required except for the burs on the edges. This new saw my dad got sucks for making the drop cuts and just does not compare to the Deltas we used in the past, but man is it quiet, don't even need ear plugs. It is like learning how to cut all over again.
