I've done this with alcohol and cotton before, but never heet and fiberglass. Thanks for the link

We did it back is Science class with a coffee can and a roll of TP soaked in alcohol. Same principal. good idea though,I had forgot about it.

When I was a kid I had an alcohol lamp in my chemistry set. 95% alcohol will melt
glass and probably lead. Now I need to stock up on Heet.

I tried today to make one out of an automotive oil filter. I figured it already had the jet holes (much too large) and I used a big bolt to screw into the middle which also served as a pedestal to sit a pan on. My results were not what I had hoped for, I will try again this weekend.
