I can't find it, so I'm assuming INGO's knife experts know... how big is legal?

I'm finding nothing that states things one way or another. I know we just recently got to carry "automatic" knives here in Indiana. My question is about large folders. Is there a legal limit on the blade size of a folder you carry in your pocket? Looking long and hard at the Cold Steel Voyager XL, which carries a 5.5" blade...

Is there any legal reason to steer away from something that large?

    Thanks, INGO!

    Well, it depends.

INGO: "Dammit, Kirk, stop speaking in riddles, you frickin' drive us nuts when you do that!"

    Oh, will do.

    1. There is no state statute as to size of the knife blade.

    2. More than several cities and towns have restrictions on length of blade, e.g. Indianapolis's prohibition on non-"regular pocket knives".

    3. Some places may have size restrictions on carry knives (e.g. Tippecanoe County Courthouse [2.5"]).

Is there any legal reason to steer away from something that large?

If you are in and out of places like the Tippecanoe County Courthouse, then a Microtech UTX-70 with a 2.4" blade is smart.

However, if you don't live in a restrictive city or town, then carry as many or as big as you desire.
