Photography frustrates me. I'm not very good at it and hate the pics I get out of my Canon point and shoot. I bought an SD880IS a year ago which I researched quite a bit and it got very good reviews for the prie. I've tried to practice with it but my pics suck.

On the other hand with my new iPhone4 I feel like I can take some decent quality pics. At the same time I can put them in my free adobe app and make them look better... crop them etc

Is a photo newb like me just better off using the iphone4? Advice please :(

What exactly is wrong with the photographs? Much can be determined after seeing your end product.

Check for fingerprints on the lens of the P&S. Dust or fingerprints will really screw with canon point and shoots.

If that's not it, more specific details needed about what's "wrong" with them, like Que said.

I agree with previous statements. You need to provide a bit more info.
    Too light, too dark?
    blurry?
    Not happy with coloring?
    Grainy?
better yet post a couple of pictures from both cameras.

These pictures were taken at 80mph from a motorcycle with a iphone4. I hate all things about apple, but dang they have good cameras.

Edit: Train was also moving in the opposite direction at full speed.

My problem with the iPhone cameras is that all of them I’ve ever had (1st gen, 3gs, and iPhone4) is that the lenses scratch EASY. When the lens is new/clean it does take some good photos.

(just did some research, apparently this is covered under warranty and can be fixed at the apple store, I’ll let you know soon)
