Not as sexy as KimYe's wedding but still, the story of Cpl Conley is worth a read. I've always liked Isbell's song "Dress Blues" and wondered if it was based on a real person. Yeah, it was inspired by a damn fine young Marine.

Thought I'd bump this up since another hero in popular culture, Tony Stewart, is in the news. Too bad we don't appreciate real hero's like USMC Cpl. Matthew Conley as much as we do actors and athletes.

Maybe if reincarnation is a real thing, Cpl Conley will be lucky enough to come back as a singer, QB, actor, or race car driver so he can get the recognition he deserved in this life. On the other hand, I'm betting he'd probably choose to come back as a Marine, one more time.
