Today was the 2nd time that I've gone to an autocross event hosted by the Kentucky Region of the SCCA. These are held in Louisville, so it is super close as I am just across the river. :D

Had a pretty good day. Ended up with a couple of really good lap times which netted 1st spot in my car class (the others in my class were a Mitsubishi Eclipse and a Ford Focus). I'll post more details/pictures later, but here is what I caught today. I'm hoping someone caught a picture of it, but I was told that I was consistently getting a rear wheel up in the air in the corners. :D

Why do I not see chalk lines on the tires? I always ran chalk to tell if the tire was rolling over or overinflated.

BTW, I hope u had fun. I always had a blast. Different kind of car, but it doesn't matter because anything can be fun.

I asked a regular there about how to properly chalk my tires, and he pointed out that my tires have the little arrow indicators, and told me that I could use that instead.

I had an absolute blast. I'm hooked. It is certainly not a car that you'd expect to see hanging around a bunch of sports cars, but it's what I have... It's a bonus that it's light weight and nimble. :D

*Also added a couple of pictures that someone else managed to snap.

Humm... This looks a lot like a little Mazda 2 I saw on 64 headed East this evening.
If I ever get a car, I may have to look into autocross. It has always looked fun.

That could have been me...around 3:40ish.

There is ironically another one, same color, in the area.

O.k. guys rub it in! My CP car is and has been in pieces for several years and each winter I SWEAR it'll be back together for the next season.. The GF and I went down to watch a Cincy region event last year and I managed to get her a ride in one of the CP cars in attendance and as expected she came back with a huge smile on her face. When we got home we were out in the barn looking at my pile of parts and asked where she was going to sit in the car since there is rollcage and exhaust where a passenger seat would be. I told her that I expected that she would be sitting behing the steering wheel!! The huge grin then went off the scale!!! One point for our side!!:rockwoot:

Nice job! Hopefully I'll get my focus back out in SMF yet this year. Just gotta find time to put her back together. Also hopefully I can find money for some new race tires.

Hmm I'm sure we've met a few times before. Indy region is the one I use to run all the time when I was doing it regularly.

I've got a friend that has ran his WRX a few times. A BUNCH of his friends (sort of, I guess...through meet n greets on a couple forums) run their STis, WRXs, RX-7s, RX-8 (only 1 of them), and the one that has the RX-8 picked up a 2010 MazdaSpeed 3 and has been building it up (only ran it a few times so far).

I'm wanting to get a Mazda 3 hatchback and have thought about trying an event or 2.
