    If so, what are your thoughts? Is it worth the $150-$300+? It appears to be worth it to limit the inrush current hopefully extending the life of the outdoor unit.

    All the units I have replaced, never seen one on.

    Hard start kits, yes.
    For the high end of the price point you listed I can just about replace my unit and just have new. Ok in bidenomics I would be about half way there.
